Students learn to:

Students demonstrate greater independence in reading comprehension and written expression.

Mathematics

Students learn:

  • Numbers up to 1 million
  • Fractions, decimals, ratios, and percentages
  • Introduction to integers
  • Algebraic expressions and equations
  • Data analysis and probability
  • Financial literacy and budgeting
  • Coding applications

Students begin working with positive and negative integers and more sophisticated algebraic reasoning.

Science and Technology

Students study:

  • Flight
  • Electricity
  • Space systems

Students learn how scientific discoveries influence society and technology.

Social Studies

  • Heritage and Identity: Communities in Canada, past and present
  • People and Environments: Canada's interactions with the global community

Health and Physical Education

Core French

Core French is basic level and mandatory from Grade 4 onward.
