Admissions
Process

From your first inquiry to orientation day, our six-step process is designed to be clear, transparent, and supportive every step of the way.

Step 1

Information Kit

All parents and students are advised to email or call us via the ’Contact’ webpage for any general inquiries and request for the Information Kit from our school. The initial correspondence aims to provide basic information to guide and assist parents and students in establishing interests and suitability of our school and our Ontario curriculum.

Step 2

Preliminary Meeting

Upon completion of Step 1, our school shall initiate a virtual meeting or arrange a physical meeting (via our global partner institution) with the parents/students in their respective country of residency. This meeting is to clarify further any query or information required by the parents/students regarding the school, the Ontario curriculum, and the applicable grade level for the new students.

Step 3

Application

Upon completion of Step 2, parents/students shall request, complete, and submit the Application form to the school for our processing. Our school normally takes about 1-2 weeks to review each application. We may contact the parents/students if further information is needed for us to make an informed decision.

Step 4

Entrance Assessments

Upon completion of Step 3, we will invite each student to take a set of entrance assessments based on the intended entry grade level – mainly to assess the student’s proficiency levels on three Courses: English, Science (in English) and Mathematics (in English). The assessments usually take about 30 minutes each, and are to be taken on same day – either virtually by our school or proctored by our global partner institution in the country of residency.

Depending on the results of the entrance assessments, there are three possible outcomes:

  • If the results of the entrance assessments are deemed satisfactory, the new student will be given an offer to enter at the intended entry grade level.
  • If the results of the entrance assessments are deemed not satisfactory, the new student will be given an offer to enter at the intended entry grade level with continuous monitoring by our teachers throughout the academic year.
  • If the results of the entrance assessments are deemed highly not satisfactory, the new student will be given an offer to enter at the intended entry grade level but will need to take an additional English proficiency course - either the ESL (English as Second Language) or the ELD (English Literacy Development) programs during the first academic year – at an extra costs.
Step 5

Admissions Offer and Acceptance

Upon completion of Step 4, we will send an Offer letter to the parents with information on the new student’s entry grade level, courses to be taken, tuition fees, co-curriculum activities (enrichment/sport) and starting date for the new semester. Parents are given five (5) business days to reply on acceptance – together with the payment of the semester tuition fees and other ancillary fees.

Payment can only be made by cheque, credit/debit cards or online transfer payable to us per our banking information and instruction provided in the Offer letter.

Step 6

Orientation Day

Orientation Day is usually on the first day of the new semester, where new students will officially start their learning at our school. Depending on the tuition fee tier type, there are two types of Orientation Day:

a) For students studying from home (i.e. with Tier 1 tuition fees):

Upon completion of acceptance and payment in Step 5, we will provide an Orientation package to our new students. Students will also be given access to our school’s learning management system (i.e. ’MyCompass’) on the 1st day of the Semester, with a brief tour around the virtual system. In addition, the relevant course instructors will be touching base with the new students too – either before or on the first day of the new semester.

Notwithstanding the above, students with Tier 1 tuition fees are also invited to join our Orientation Day at our global partner institution – per (b) below. All are welcome!

b) For students at our global partner institution (i.e. with Tier 2 tuition fees):

Upon completion of acceptance and payment in Step 5, we will provide an Orientation package (including school uniform) to our new students prior to the first day of school. On Orientation Day, students will be introduced to all Principal and facilitators/administrators and be given a tour around the learning place. Student cards and security access into the premises will also be completed on the first day.

In addition, students will also be given access to our school’s learning management system (i.e. ’MyCompass’) on the 1st day of the Semester, with a brief tour around the virtual system. The relevant course instructors will be touching base with the new students too – either before or on the first day of the new semester. Students may leave earlier during the Orientation Day.
